Alright gang,

Here's the "come clean" poll.

How many floating vessels do you currently own?

I don't know if we have enough options for Coop. :D

Gus, it's too bad you don't have a second boat to enjoy.

Something that isn't too great but runs and gets you out on the water.

That's why I like my old tin boats. :)

I'll have to take one of it and post it here. This motor is a couple of years older than digital cameras!I'll see if I can get a few pics of my oldies. They're a labour of love for the most part. I have a few and switch them around on the old tin boat. I'll run one for a half a tank or so and then take it off and put on another. They seemingly always need something done to them too, so when they're off I'm usually messin' with 'em. :yell: :) :D

Six as of this weekend :bigthumb:

2 kayaks (Perception)
1 paddle boat (Playmate!)
1 pontoon boat (20'+ San Pan/Aqua Patio, powered by 15 Honda)
1 row boat (Alumacraft T-14V, now missing it's 15 Honda)
1 tubing boat (Four Winns Freedom 180 with 150 BRP)

Looking for my next Checkmate.........:brickwall:

Chris

What's the plan for the 'toon JW?

Going to rig it up with something bigger and put the 15 back on the tinboat?

JW
07-15-2007, 01:28 PM
No, I think the 15 Honda is ideal on that pontoon boat. Talk about a cheap ride! I'm still using the small 3-gallon gas tank, and I rarely have to fill it. The aluminum boat can use my 30 lb trolling motor.

Yesterday I got myself a 1971 Merc 9.8 for free from our local marina. It was sitting on a back stand and I inquired about it and they said it needed too much work so the owner gave it to them. So inquired as to how much they wanted for it and they said take it and get it out of our hair. Needless to say, I've known the people forever, so I told them I'd give them 50 bucks as I didn't feel right taking it for nothing.

Anyhoo, it needs a bit of work of course, but I'm already rippin' into it.

This model is the one that is black and has the red (late 60's early 70's) Merc Graphics.

It's a pretty kewl old thing, so hopefully I can get it runnin' again. :)

Hey Poppa,

Welcome to the forums, I appreciate you joining up and joining us.

That's a nice and sizeable collection you've got there. :thumb:

If you like, perhaps you can load some pictures up into our gallery and then you can post them here on the forums.

You'll have to load your pics into the categorized brand section. Not all the sections of the photo gallery are open for uploads. IF you need additional brand categories added, just let me know which ones you'll need for your boats and I'll create them for you.

I know we talked about this on the checkmate forum; but, your Valero is a sweet boat. I saw one just like it on Percy Priest(nashville) and thats when my wife and I fell in love with performance boats. Was actually looking to buy a Valero when I discovered checkmate and the Enforcer specifically. If it was me I'd have trouble parting with it as well.

You seem to like getting all itchy with the glass and such, so maybe a vintage 'Stream can be your next project. ;)

Gawd knows many, if not most of the vintage 'Streams, not only need a new transom, floor and stringers, but many also need a new core too!

So who knows? Maybe after you finish up the Enforcer, you can start on a vintage 'Stream. :yell: :D

Don't know how I missed this post:pissed: If I start another project boat my wife will probably throw me and the boats out.LOL. Restoring an old Stream would be sweet! Hopefully I'll make some progress on the Enforcer this year; after that who knows? I do have some work to do on the the Crownie this winter; I need to replace the rear deck support stucture and a couple of seat backs(rear lounge and the anchor compartment). I'll be sure to post the repairs here on EB w/ pics once I get started. We are also going to add a WB tower and replace the convertible top as well. Should make for a nice facelift thread.:D

I'm at work now, but I'll update my profile and include a link in my signature, so that those here on EB can follow my Enforcer resto.

It is hard to say how many I have now-12 or so. Let me explain before the red bs flag gets thrown. My eldest son has been involved with Cub and boy scouts for 5 years. Being dad I try to help out as much as I can. We do the camping trips ect. so the boys can earn their merit badges & belt loops. Living on & sometimes almost in the NE river I go out every chance I get-not nearly enough for me & way to much for my wifes tastes-anyway-I was shocked to find that most of the kids had little or no knowledge about boating, sailing, fishing, and most other outdoor fun. I'm thinking geez these kids live on the bay and its just water. I looked in to some things, talked to some parents & made my pitch-it was simple-we teach the kids to respect nature-how can they respect things that they don't know exhist. The word got out-I was looking for anything that floated, could be fished, whatever. My neighbor is the Pres. of the local MSSA (MD. Saltwater Sportsman Ass.). I told him what I wanted to do-they stepped up, supplied the kids with rods, reels, lures and a BBQ. I'd come home and find a rowboat ect. Thats how I got my fleet of boats-now if I could just get these kids out of my yard-
