I just bought a Tracker v17 Sc and the back of the boat sits so low in the water i got about an inch and half clearance. The wet well drain hole sit under water about 2 inches and water pours into the boat constantly. Tracker told me its suppose to be like that and wont do anything to fix it. Water is leaking inth the bottom of boat through the wet well cap. They said the only thing they were gonna do is make that cap water tight. Does anyone have a tracker targa and if so how does the back sit in the water?

A number of manufacturers are starting to eliminate the splash well lips on transoms and instead of just going with flat splash wells with no lips.

In general, to me at least, splash well lips are a pain for a number of reasons as you have no doubt figured out.

I think the one main good reason they are still around, is that they add a little extra clearance for tilting up the motor on smaller boats.

It would appear, that your best option is to seal up that cover and make it water tight. Beyond that, eliminating weight in the back or moving it forward might be the only other easy option.

Let us know how you make out. :)
