Hi Will,

If you can't find the official Mercury branded lines...

Have you tried looking with one of the other supplier's like Teleflex?

They also have Zero Feedback Hydraulic systems available as well that are really nice. I think they call those lines Sea Star and Bay Star.

Will, be sure to check out the full zero feedback systems as well. If you're running with any serious power, they're really great. You can literally let go out the wheel and it stays put. No pulling to either side or anything like that.

Let us know how you make out. :)

Contacted teleflex with no luck . Still want to use the ride guide racks that I have . They are much better built than the new ones and more dependable . I have bought all the steering componets new , racks one cables helm tilt tube adapter for the inlines to run dual cable ride guides . All I need is the 15ft cable and the sterring system is complete . I just have to still locate one

I guess searching and watching eBay is probably your best bet.

I'm sure you're already on that one though. :)

Hey Will, you should give my dealer a call, he has TONS of new and used mercury stuff, I have never seen him not have anything I needed, his entire second floor is full of old merc stuff, if he has one I could bring it to Indiana with me and ship it to you from there.

Pally performance products 306-244-4469 ask for Dave Pally, if you talk to anyone else you'll be wasting your time.

I've used this company more than a few times.

http://www.marineparts.com/

I linked you their U.S. website but they also have a Canadian wing as well.

I've ordered old Merc parts from them that I couldn't find anywhere else. They are able to search inventories from other dealers and salvage yards and then provide new and used parts that are hard to find. :)

They might be worth a try.

Is this going to be the part number you are looking for? (11111A15)
If so then try giving MESA MARINE IN MESA AZ, a call at 480-830-4799.

In the first link below, See item number one. As an example of the part number you would need to add your cable lenght at the end of the number to complete the part number.

Mercury has a service bulletin out covering the ride guide steering cable system, Service Bulletin number 2007-13 (RideGuide Steering Conversion Kits). Ask a mercury dealer for a copy of it.

Found part number in here.http://www.mercruiserparts.com/selectDocs.asp?doc_nbr=4200091D

But there are others to choose from found below.

say part is no longer available
Yes unfortunately the parts are no longer available from mercury marine, But It may just help you narrow down the search by using the old mercury part number found in that link while either looking at ebay or calling a mercury marine dealer.

By using the old number you may end up calling a dealer that just may still have the cable in stock, But if you call the same dealer and only say I need a old style ride guide cable, then there is a chance the guy will just say no we don't have it because he may be new or have no idea what it really is, But if he had a old mercury part number then he may just punch in the number and say hay we have that in stock.;):)

I already called that place . Mercury told me to and I called and they no longer have that in stock . I posted it in my last post that I called a dealer in arizona and that they no longer had the cable . I actually contacted alot of people and they didnt have it . You are right the part number is 11111A15 . I did end up finding it in tocoma washington . I looked all over ebay by putting in Mercury ride guide , Quicksilver Ride guide and Just ride guide with no luck today I put in just the part number and one pulled up and I bought it lol . I was happy as hell lol . Now my steering system is complete and everything is N.O.S Mercury parts . I even found a company that still makes the old steering wheels that checkmate used in the early 70's so I bought one of those too . Now I just have to get the boat home so I can start working on it ...... Thank you to every one that that offered there advice . It was very much appreciated ....... Will
