Gus, it's too bad you don't have a second boat to enjoy.

Something that isn't too great but runs and gets you out on the water.

That's why I like my old tin boats. :)

I'll have to take one of it and post it here. This motor is a couple of years older than digital cameras!
I'll see if I can get a few pics of my oldies. They're a labour of love for the most part. I have a few and switch them around on the old tin boat. I'll run one for a half a tank or so and then take it off and put on another. They seemingly always need something done to them too, so when they're off I'm usually messin' with 'em. :yell: :) :D

Six as of this weekend :bigthumb:

2 kayaks (Perception)
1 paddle boat (Playmate!)
1 pontoon boat (20'+ San Pan/Aqua Patio, powered by 15 Honda)
1 row boat (Alumacraft T-14V, now missing it's 15 Honda)
1 tubing boat (Four Winns Freedom 180 with 150 BRP)

Looking for my next Checkmate.........:brickwall:

What's the plan for the 'toon JW?

Going to rig it up with something bigger and put the 15 back on the tinboat?

No, I think the 15 Honda is ideal on that pontoon boat. Talk about a cheap ride! I'm still using the small 3-gallon gas tank, and I rarely have to fill it. The aluminum boat can use my 30 lb trolling motor.

Yesterday I got myself a 1971 Merc 9.8 for free from our local marina. It was sitting on a back stand and I inquired about it and they said it needed too much work so the owner gave it to them. So inquired as to how much they wanted for it and they said take it and get it out of our hair. Needless to say, I've known the people forever, so I told them I'd give them 50 bucks as I didn't feel right taking it for nothing.

Anyhoo, it needs a bit of work of course, but I'm already rippin' into it.

This model is the one that is black and has the red (late 60's early 70's) Merc Graphics.

It's a pretty kewl old thing, so hopefully I can get it runnin' again. :)
