Tilt Trim Motor

Hi guys. I have a 1977 Fiberform with a Mercruiser 165. The Tilt trim motor quit. The brushes are gone and the armature is real rough (commutator). Looking for the best way to go on replacing the motor or repairing and suggestions on where to get parts. Whole new aftermarket? Fix motor? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

iboats or ebay to replace with new or used. the bad part about getting rebuilt is it getting harder to find parts and the price is going up.

i have chucked the armature up in the drill press and polished the comutator with emery cloth to get it smooth, then reolace the brushes and it should work fine.

Thanks Dave,

I don't think this was the first run-out on the brushes. The commutator would have needed to be turned in a lathe to clean it up. I did purchase a new one from iboats.
